ChurchHub Login Won't Load in my Browser

PROBLEM

Sometimes, when trying to access ChurchHub.ca, we get a blank page and/or an error that ChurchHub is not available.

WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?

1. Internet is down. Check if you can access other websites, such as www.google.ca, or youtube.com/UnitedChurchofCanada

2. Antivirus software. When trying to access ChurchHub.ca McAfee blocks access to ChurchHub.

Antivirus software like McAfee are designed to monitor and stop if necessary, network traffic into your computer.  Stopping network traffic is the role of Firewall. See this youtube video McAfee Firewall for more information.

Firewalls decide whether to allow network traffic, to keep your computer and data safe. However, sometimes firewalls block websites that we don't want blocked. In this case, with ChurchHub being blocked, we need to fix this.  Identifying a website as a safe site in firewall is often called whitelisting and identifying a site as a bad site is blacklisting.

SOLUTION

Here are the steps to whitelist ChurchHub.ca:

1. Open McAfee Live safe. 
   1. Click on Settings. 
      1. Click on Firewall. 
      2. Within Firewall, there is an option called NetGuard. Click on that. 
      3. Then find the ChurchHub’s IP Address and click on it. 
      4. Then choose to ALLOW this IP.
